About Sharjah
Sharjah is a famous metropolis in the United Arab Emirates after Dubai and Abu Dhabi to form part of the Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman metropolitan area. It has a population of over 800,000. It has a main administrative and commercial centre with many traditional and cultural projects, including various museums covering areas such as natural history, archaeology, science, art, heritage, Islamic art and culture.
The city has many world-class institutions and beautiful mosques. Its stunning Islamic-influenced architecture overlooking the sights has made it a tourist destination but the real value of the institution lies in its commitment to providing world-class education. There are numerous scale hotels in the Buhaira Corniche. The Sharjah Commercial Tourism Development Authority is located along the Corniche. The Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization is placed in Al-Nabbah. The Sahara Center is the largest mall in Sharjah.
